Safety - Areas Free From Hazards
The backyard had items posing a risk to health or safety, such as a broken chair with sharp parts exposed, a broken stove, used tires with water in them, as well as children's play equipment in disrepair and a sandbox filled with rain water. The back door exit leading to the backyard had tripping hazards, such as an extension cord on the floor. An indoor outlet by the Christmas tree accessible to children under 5 years old did not have an outlet cover. A craft utility knife was observed in the living room area where the children were being cared for near the dining table. A bottle of nail polish remover labeled "Keep Out of Reach of Children" was located on the dining table near the children's drinking cups.
