Who I am
Daycare Index is operated by an individual, not a company. Contact: [email protected].
This is not a service for children
Daycare Index is intended for parents, guardians and childcare providers. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, there are no accounts for minors, and nothing on the site is directed at children. If you believe a child has submitted information, write to me and I will delete it.
What I collect
- Nothing, to browse. Reading provider records requires no account and no sign-in.
- Correction reports: the field you are correcting, your suggested value, any evidence you provide, and your email address so I can follow up. Retained for two years, then deleted.
- Claim accounts: business contact details, the license number claimed, and the evidence you submit for verification. Retained while the claim is active and for two years after it ends.
- Analytics: aggregate page views, searches and filter usage. No personal data is placed in URLs, and I do not build profiles of individual visitors.
What I do not do
- I do not sell personal information.
- I do not use your data to target advertising.
- I do not share correction reports with the provider they concern without your permission.
Processors
Hosting, email delivery, error monitoring and analytics are handled by third-party providers. Where mapping or places data is used, that provider receives the request necessary to serve it. A current list is available on request and will be published here before launch.
Page analytics use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization, Google signals off and no advertising personalization. It records aggregate page views and interactions; I do not use it to identify or profile individual visitors. You can block it with any content or script blocker without affecting the site.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to [email protected] and I will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Provider records are not personal data requests
Licensing, inspection and violation records come from state government agencies and are public records. A request to remove them should go to the issuing agency, not to me. If the agency corrects or removes a record, my copy updates on the next import. See Corrections for how to dispute a fact.
