Where the data comes from

Every licensing, inspection and violation record on this site is imported from a state government agency. Each provider page names its source and the date it was retrieved. Nothing is generated, estimated or filled in.

If a fact is wrong

There are two different situations, and they go to different places.

• The state record itself is wrong. Contact the licensing agency for that state. They hold the authoritative record. Once they correct it, my copy updates at the next import, usually within a week.
• My copy does not match the state record. That is my error. Use the report link on the provider page and I will fix it.

What I will not do

I will not remove or amend an accurate government record because a provider dislikes it. Corrections and claims can never overwrite licensing data. A provider may add context in the clearly labelled provider-supplied section of their listing.

Timeline

Reports are reviewed by a person, not published automatically. I aim to respond within five working days. If a fact is disputed and I cannot resolve it quickly, I will mark it as under review on the page rather than leave it looking settled.
