Responsibilities of Employees and Caregivers -Demonstrate Competency, Good Judgment, Self-control
This standard was tasked over for this investigation and found to be deficient. The caregiver at time did not make the best judgement by moving the child from the play rug area in the classroom to an adult size chair and then stepping away the child. The child was left in the space and toppled over to the ground hitting their head on the floor. The caregiver is no longer employed at the facility and the chair has been moved to face the wall in the classroom, no longer accessible to the children in care.
