      Furnishings and Equipment for Toddlers - Items Accessible to Children

      Observed two toddler classrooms who did not have toys in the reach of children. One classroom had the shelf blocking the other shelf which had the toys on them. The other classroom had the shelf turned around and toys on top of the shelf. This was corrected when the toys were put in the reach of the children and Shelves were moved.

      It was found after interviewing multilple staff that a caregiver that has conditions on their background check is being left alone in a two year old classroom. The caregivers conditions state that they cannot be left alone with children. During the walkthrough it was seen that the caregiver was present in the room with other caregivers who have no conditions. An administrative penalty will be recommended as a result of this citation, per HRC ?42.078.
